Racing at the Superyacht Challenge Antigua for Day Two was called off at 10:30 AST due to a lack of wind. The Race Committee set additional marks to the east and south east of Antigua in the hope of getting more breeze and observed the race area from an elevated position at Fort Charlotte. In addition, Paul Deeth and local mark layer Archie were in two separate boats monitoring the conditions. However, with no change expected in the conditions until much later in the day, racing at the Superyacht Challenge Antigua will resume tomorrow Saturday 11 March.

At this morning’s Skippers’ Briefing the Superyacht Challenge Antigua paid respects to Sam Richmond with a moments silence.

“Today is one year on from the tragic loss of Sam Richmond in training for this regatta. Those lucky enough to have known Sam will remember his infectious smile and kind heart. Our thoughts are with his family and friends especially Collette, Maisie and Martha. Sam was a rising start in sailing, he had just been appointed the North Sails European sales manager at the age of 37 and was universally well-liked. We all miss him terribly but let us all share our stories about Sam to encourage people to be more like him.” Ian Walker
