Nelson’s Pursuit Race

This is a very popular Pursuit Race that commemorates the pursuit of the French Fleet.  This was under the command of the Admiral Villeneuve by the Royal Navy,  under the Command of Admiral Horatio Nelson in 1805.

The race is open to all sailboats and sailed with only working sails i.e., jib and main, no special down wing sails allowed. The race raises funds for the St. John Hospice and usually attracts over 30 yachts participating. There is a lively prize-giving ceremony in the Dockyard with the “Infamous” Chippy Rum Punch.
A very fun day and great way to end the year!
Registration is open!
