Sponsors
We are delighted that the well-known Maine boatyard Lyman-Morse, now also representing Wayfarer Marine, one of the original trophy sponsors for the Regatta, is now a full sponsor – they run the famous Camden Classics Cup event in Maine every July.
The Mill Reef Yacht Club has stepped up to the mark as sponsor for the Regatta’s iconic t-shirts, polo shirts and hats as well as the skippers’ bags. We are very grateful to the Commodore for organising this and look forward to seeing him and his co-contributors on the water again in April. The Mill Reef Yacht Club has chartered various boats over the years to race in the Antigua Classics and this year hopes to reserve one, if not two, Carriacou sloops, which are a traditional and quintessential part of the event.
Neil Chapman’s Boatshed www.boatshed.com has joined us as a partner. Boatshed is the cornerstone of the yacht brokerage industry in the UK and elsewhere in the world. We are very pleased to welcome Neil on board.
After a day’s serious racing, there’s nothing like a cool beer when arriving at the dock: this year it will be Wadadli Beer, a true Caribbean brew, ideal for slaking the thirst of any parched sailor – thanks to Kennedy’s Club.
Friends of the Regatta: this is an entirely new venture, often practised with great success at other, similar events. It has been formed in answer to enquiries as to how monetary contributions to the Regatta to augment its continued success might be formally made. We have been amazed by the generosity of many of our local patrons, most of whom wish to remain anonymous, and are extremely grateful for such a response.
If any yacht, shore-side business or individual is interested in becoming a Friend of the Regatta, please contact Co-Chair Jane Coombs at [email protected] for further information.
Meteorologist Dave Cannon of Seaweather.net is offering free electronic weather forecasts in the form of links that we will put on our website and on Facebook and Twitter. We are aware that not all participants have easy access to the internet but we are hoping that those that do will be kind enough to pass the relevant information on to those that not so lucky.
Rex Halcyon Hotel on lovely Dickenson Bay (about a 40 minute drive to English Harbour but just a ten minute drive to the airport) is offering special crew rates17-27 April. Contact Kimberly King at [email protected]
